Meet the Student Who Scored 358 in UTME Using Only a Mobile Phone

In 2025, Fatima Bello from Kano State scored 358 in the UTME. She did not attend an expensive coaching centre. She did not own a laptop. She prepared using only her mother’s Android phone and the Highscore EdTech platform.

Fatima’s story is proof that expensive resources do not guarantee success. What matters is consistency and the right strategy. She started studying six months before the exam. Every morning, after helping with house chores, she dedicated three hours to practice. She used the Highscore CBT simulator to take timed tests. She downloaded the JAMB syllabus as a PDF and checked off every topic she mastered.

Her biggest challenge was data. She did not always have internet. So she downloaded past question packs when she had access and worked offline. She kept a notebook of her mistakes and reviewed it weekly. She joined a WhatsApp study group where students challenged each other with questions.

By the time the exam arrived, Fatima had taken over 80 mock tests. She knew the CBT interface better than most students who used laptops. She walked into the exam hall calm and prepared. When her result came out, her family was stunned.

Fatima is now studying Medicine at Ahmadu Bello University. Her advice to students preparing this year: “Do not wait until you have everything. Start with what you have. Use your phone wisely. Practice every day. The exam does not care about your background. It rewards effort.” You can read more success stories and start your own journey on the Highscore EdTech platform.
