Post-UTME Strategy Guide: What to Expect and How to Prepare for Your University’s Screening

The Post-UTME screening is your final hurdle before admission. Each university has its own style. This guide helps you prepare no matter where you applied.

Understand the Format. Some universities set a computer-based aptitude test covering English, Mathematics, and current affairs. Others test subject-specific knowledge related to your course. A few now use a purely document verification process. Check your university’s website and social media pages for the exact format. Do not assume.

Common Components.

● English Language: Comprehension, synonyms, antonyms, and basic grammar.

● Mathematics: Quantitative reasoning, percentages, ratios, word problems, and simple algebra.

● Current Affairs: Nigerian history, politics, sports, and major global events from the past year.

● Course-Specific Questions: Law candidates may face logical reasoning. Engineering candidates may get advanced math. Medicine candidates may get biology and chemistry questions.
